    Lauren Wetherell Coach

Hi, I’m Lauren Wetherell, originally from the UK. I moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee and swim for the Lady Vols. I graduated last May with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Social Work, aiming to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and work as a therapist for children and families.

I recently retired from competitive swimming after completing my eligibility. I swam distance and competed at the SEC Championships for three years—2023, 2024, and 2025. I also had the honor of representing Great Britain as part of the European Junior Team in Kazan, Russia, in 2019 and was a member of the Scottish National Team for four years.

Outside of swimming, I enjoy cooking and reading, especially experimenting with new recipes. I’m really excited for this summer with Fox Den!

    About Us

The Fox Den Red Foxes are Fox Den Country Club's youth summer swim team (ages 5 to 18 years) in west Knoxville. The Red Foxes are currently in League 2 of the Greater Knoxville Area Interclub Swimming Association (GKAISA).

    MISSION

FDCC believes in offering a summer swim team experience that teaches and trains all levels of swimmers, emphasizing individual growth, sportsmanship, team unity, and family participation in a positive social environment. It is our goal to develop mentally strong and confident swimmers who can use their swim team experience in all areas of their lives. We ask that our young people exhibit our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, and team work in and out of the pool.

Together, FDCC swimmers can achieve our mission by:

    • Committing to practice and meets regularly
    • Exhibiting hard work, dedication and sportsmanship
    • Encouraging and supporting teammates
    • Practicing our core values and positively representing the FDCC swim team
    • Creating a positive swim environment for all swimmers
